Overview of December 18:
The final day in Jordan starts with some trepidition as the coming hours will see the journeymen through their most difficult border crossing yet: into the occupied territories of the West Bank, Palestine.

As they fear may be the case, despite promises to the contrary, the journeymen are told they will have to board a bus to cross the Allenby bridge and travel the last few miles of the border crossing into Israel. Their has been a shooting in Jericho earlier in the day. Becasue of the nature of the pilgrimage this is not a palatable option to the journeymen, especially to those who have made the trek all the way from Baghdad, Iraq to this point on their own two feet, or with the help of the camels. The idea of having to drive a portion of the journey, even such a short distance, does not sit well, and the journeymen stop for some time hoping for a resolution that will allow them to walk.

In the end, most of the jourenymen board the bus. But Robin, Todd, and Keith turn back, refusing to cross the final miles of the border via a bus, hopping that the next day they will be allowed passage. Robin, for one, has walked every foot of the journey on his own blistered feet; Todd and Keith habe not travelled any of the joureny via a motor-vehicle.

At the checkpoint in Israel proper the two African journeymen, Prosper and Peter are refused entry and turned back to Jordan. A friend of the journeymen, Palestinian human rights lawyer Jonathon Kuttab has taken up thier case in the Israeli high court. Hearing of this, Robin has refused to continue on the journey without them.

However, the other journeymen continue, and after several hours, and being split into two groups, most of the joruneymen arrive in Jericho later that night.
