Overview of December 2:
A third day of rest in a row gives the journeymen the chance to do some shopping in Damascus. While in the market Peter Theip happens upon some Sudanese friends, men from his own Nuir tribe whom he had not seen in eight years. Having heard nothing of these friends for so long it is a real gift from God not only to Peter, but to the rest of the journeymen as well. These Sudanese Christian refugees, who have fled their war torn country of Southern Sudan, agree to join the pilgrimage from their refugee home in Damascus to the Jordan border.
