Overview of November 18:
The morning breakes foggy, wet, and dreary. Nonetheless, the journey men eat a soggy breakfast and continue on thier pilgrimage. However, the downpour of the night before has flooded the desert, causing wash-outs, turning the open desert into a maze of flooded impasses.

At some point, late in the day, the journeymen split into two groups. The first, those who had stayed in Palmyra the night before, make it to the new camp without a problem. However, the second group cannot spot the camp in the dark and so drive to Palmyra, and dry beds in the Cham Palace. There are no complaints from them this time.
